Job Summary

The Diesel/Automotive Mechanic is a critical role at IndyGo, responsible for the maintenance and repair of all corporation vehicles. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair complex mechanical problems with diesel and automotive vehicles
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Conduct safety inspections and replace defective parts and components as needed
  • Operate heavy equipment, such as lifts and welding equipment, to perform repairs and maintenance
  • Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and manage workload
Requirements
  • Formal trade school or associate degree in automotive, diesel, or engineering program
  • At least one year of experience as a diesel or automotive mechanic
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and ability to obtain CDL license within six months
  • Pass a skills assessment with a score of at least 75%
