Job Summary:

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at McLaren Health Care, you will play a vital role in producing high-quality images that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. Your expertise in performing ultrasound diagnostic studies will enable you to work closely with physicians to provide accurate and timely results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain patient history and explain standard procedures to foster a sense of comfort and confidence in patients.
• Position patients, select appropriate transducers and machine settings, and conduct scanning procedures to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
• Operate and maintain all assigned ultrasound scanning equipment to ensure it works properly and complies with quality assurance processes and radiation safety protocols.
• Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in paper and electronic formats.
• Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• Graduation from an approved school of Medical Sonography
• Registration as Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• Current BLS certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Registration as Diagnostic Sonographer required, or registration completed within 6 months of accepting the position.
