Clinical Dietitian

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Dietitian to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a critical role in planning and directing all activities related to patient nutrition care, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive nutrition care plans for patients with special nutritional needs
- Evaluate patients through admission screening, communication with other disciplines, and patient visitation
- Perform nutritional assessments and develop individualized nutrition care plans
- Monitor implementation of nutrition care plans and delegate care to supportive staff
- Counsel individuals and families on nutrition concepts and modifications
- Document consultation and communicate with referring physicians as needed
- Maintain quality assurance program for clinical nutrition and assist in quality assurance of the department
- Monitor patient tray service for conformance to quality standards and diet prescriptions
- Assist in conducting ongoing in-service training for other members of the health team and nutrition staff
- Evaluate, revise, and/or develop nutrition programs, policies, and procedures to maintain conformance with corporate, state, federal, and JACHO standards
- Approve all menus and evaluate patient menus for acceptance and appropriateness
- Cooperate with other professionals in the development of staff/community preventive/interventive nutrition programs
- Bachelor's degree in dietetics, foods, and nutrition or related area from an accredited college
- Registered dietitian or eligible for registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association
- Currently licensed in the State of [insert state]
- One year experience in the field of nutrition or food service work preferred
The Clinical Dietitian will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, maintaining competencies specific to patient population and demonstrating comprehensive knowledge and application of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy. The ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form to patients, public, medical staff, and physicians is essential.
