Job Title: Patient Care Technician

At Methodist Health System, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Job Summary:

The Patient Care Technician will assist with patient care activities, including bathing, oral hygiene, and oral feedings. You will also assist with patient mobility, including turning, lifting, and moving patients. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, and responding effectively in emergencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with patient care activities, including bathing, oral hygiene, and oral feedings
  • Assist with patient mobility, including turning, lifting, and moving patients
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Respond effectively in emergencies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Graduate from a certified Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, or Medical Assistant Program
  • Or 1 year experience as a nursing assistant in a comparable healthcare facility
  • Or nursing student who documents completion of the first semester of the nursing program
  • Or documented military experience as a medic/corpsman
  • Or foreign nursing graduate not currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the
  • Or EMT Certification/Paramedic License Experience
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support card required
  • High school diploma or GED required
Work Environment:

The Patient Care Technician will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to provide exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will be able to remain flexible and adaptable to change, and will be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff, patients, and family members.

Physical Demands:

The Patient Care Technician will be required to stand for long periods, walk, and lift patients. The ideal candidate will be able to remain on their feet for extended periods, and will be able to lift patients safely and effectively.
