Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist PRN to join our team at Corewell Health. As a Speech-Language Pathologist PRN, you will play a vital role in providing individualized patient care, assessing and treating speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate referred patients, establish patient and family-centered goals, and develop and execute treatment plans to promote or maximize independence in the discharged setting.
  • Provide initial evaluations and re-evaluations of the patient's status related to speech, language, social, and cognitive communication, voice, fluency, and/or swallowing consistent with physician referral.
  • Perform evaluations consisting of a review of the patient's medical, surgical, and social history, and interpretation of appropriate formal and informal tests.
  • Implement and progress evidence-based therapy interventions consistent with established and modified goals and plans of care according to the patient's response to treatment.
  • Develop and coordinate an integrated discharge plan that includes recommendations specific to the patient's needs with other healthcare providers.
  • Maintain educational requirements by providing and attending in-services and staff meetings on a regular basis.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree, Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), ASHA.
  • Experience in adult/children neurological speech and language disorders, evaluation, and treatment, including aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dysphagia, laryngectomy, stuttering, and voice disorders.
  • Experience with head and neck cancer, tracheostomies, cognition, TBI, dementia, and modified barium swallow studies.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence, America Speech-Language-Hearing Association, (required) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Licensure in Speech Pathology-Michigan (required) or temporary license during the CFY (required).
