Our facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology to ensure precise analysis of various environmental samples, including drinking water, groundwater, wastewater, and solid waste.
Position Summary
We are currently in search of a qualified Environmental Analytical Chemist with supervisory experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our analytical processes and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct sample preparation and analysis in accordance with established testing protocols utilizing advanced instrumentation such as GC and GCMS.
- Perform routine and complex maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Leverage Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for effective workflow management, including job status tracking and documentation updates.
- Prepare analytical standards and maintain meticulous records to support quality assurance efforts.
- Adhere to all laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and participate in capability demonstrations as required.
- Stay informed about quality control measures and calculations relevant to analytical methods.
- Uphold safety, ethical, and quality standards in all laboratory operations.
- Engage in advanced method development and implementation of new testing procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, equipment, and software.
- Assist in addressing client inquiries and ensure timely processing of samples within required hold times.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field with a focus on organic analysis in an environmental laboratory context.
- Proficient in the operation of GC and GCMS systems, with a solid understanding of EPA methodologies for environmental testing.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is preferred.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality laboratory practices.
