Job Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our corrections medical team in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision of RNs or physicians
  • Monitor patients' vitals and symptoms, administering medication and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols
  • Administer medications and injections as prescribed by a physician and monitor for adverse reactions to medications
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate interventions as needed
  • Document all patient interactions, treatments, and observations accurately and timely
  • Educate patients on self-care techniques and promote health education within the correctional facility
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a corrections or similar setting
  • A valid LPN license and willingness to obtain VA and/or compact licensure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
