Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer II to join our team at the Birmingham Water Works Board. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and directing engineering projects related to water treatment and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate engineering projects for water treatment and distribution systems, including capital construction and maintenance projects.
  • Perform civil engineering tasks, such as designing and developing plans for water treatment and distribution systems, and conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of studies and reports related to water system operations and maintenance, including hydraulic modeling and non-revenue water analysis.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to ensure effective project management and coordination.
  • Develop and implement solutions to complex engineering problems, including those related to water system operations and maintenance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Four years of experience in process civil or environmental engineering, design, maintenance, construction engineering, and project management is required.
  • Experience with water system hydraulic modeling and non-revenue water analysis is highly desirable.
