Water Treatment Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Operator to join our team at Padre Dam Municipal Water District. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient treatment of wastewater and the production of high-quality recycled water.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and control the operation of wastewater treatment processes, including biological nutrient removal, advanced tertiary treatment, and disinfection.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on treatment plant equipment and facilities.
- Collect and analyze water samples to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve operational goals and objectives.
- Participate in training and professional development to maintain certification and stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- One year of experience in wastewater treatment operations or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid California driver's license required.
- Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade I certificate or higher from the State of California, Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) within one year from date of hire.
This is a night shift position, working 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM, with a 7-on/7-off schedule. The position may require working in confined spaces, wearing personal protective equipment, and operating heavy equipment.
Please note that this is a contract position, and the duration of employment will be dependent on the terms of the Administrative and Operating Services Agreement with the East County CAWP Joint Powers Authority.
