Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer Sr to provide technical support for submarine construction activities at our Quonset Point facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing engineering oversight and assistance to trade personnel, evaluating emergent shipyard issues, and developing technically acceptable resolutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering oversight and assistance to trade personnel
  • Evaluate emergent shipyard issues and develop technically acceptable resolutions
  • Interpret design, drawing, and specification requirements
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering evaluations
  • Facilitate discipline-specific knowledge transfer to the construction support engineering team
  • Coordinate engagement of design and engineering subject matter experts in the construction sequence
  • Perform evaluations for 'as-built' configurations
  • Perform surveillances of manufacturing, inspection, and testing of trade work
  • Regularly interface with trade personnel, management, and on-site customer representatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience is required
  • Candidates must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Prior deck plate construction engineering experience is highly desirable
  • Prior experience working with US Navy submarines/ships
  • Familiarity with Electronic Desktop (7G, Work Orders, ELCADD, ERS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Team Center and JCALS
Physical Qualifications
  • Climbing, crawling, kneeling, stooping
