Position Summary

We are in search of a seasoned Procurement Manager to spearhead and enhance our purchasing functions. This crucial position entails overseeing the procurement of both direct and indirect materials, with an emphasis on developing a state-of-the-art inventory management system that complies with FAR government property management regulations. The ideal candidate will manage annual purchases and expenditures amounting to $100 million.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, oversee, and engage in regular physical inventory assessments within the facility.
  • Implement inventory protocols utilizing an electronic tracking system, addressing discrepancies by alerting management and investigating root causes.
  • Ensure precise and timely inventory counts, maintaining thorough documentation and filing systems.
  • Accountable for resolving all inventory discrepancies and providing reports on the resolution process, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Offer expert advice on FAR to guarantee full compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Design and execute an advanced inventory tracking system to improve inventory control measures.
  • Verify incoming orders from clients and suppliers to confirm the accuracy of received materials and consistency of information.
  • Adopt a data-driven supply chain model, integrating Make to Order, Make to Stock, and Customer Managed Inventory strategies.
  • Meet current and future operational needs promptly, ensuring adherence to quality standards, competitive pricing, and exceptional vendor service.

Qualifications:

  • B.S./B.A. in Business Management (preferred).
  • 6-10+ years of experience in procurement management, ideally within a related industry.
  • Thorough understanding of FAR government property management regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge in cost analysis, internal controls, inventory management, procurement, shipping and receiving, contract negotiation, and record management.
  • Ability to navigate multiple disciplines, demonstrating skills in analysis, process enhancement, verbal communication, coordination, attention to detail, and judgment.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively when necessary.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as required.
