Job Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapy Student Technician, you will operate under the guidance of a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) to deliver noninvasive respiratory care to patients as prescribed by their physicians. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Administering and overseeing respiratory therapy treatments.
  • Documenting relevant information in patient medical records.
  • Conducting noninvasive diagnostic assessments, including bedside spirometry and electrocardiograms (ECG), and accurately recording results.
  • Performing routine maintenance and calibration of respiratory equipment.
Qualifications

Experience:

  • Less than one year of relevant experience.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory care program with completion of at least two semesters. Active student status must be maintained.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required in accordance with St. David's Healthcare policy.
