Job Summary:

The Part Time Medical Nurse Practitioner will assist the Medical Director in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of patient care for our outpatient facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in substance abuse and addiction treatment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial history and physicals, intermittent medical assessments, and recommend and/or order medical interventions as needed.
  • Complete required documentation in a timely manner, including admission assessments, history and physical examinations, intermittent assessments, and patient discharge summaries.
  • Assess the physiological and behavioral health status of adult patients and develop treatment plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with patients, counseling staff, clinical dietician, psychiatrist, medical director, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in the delivery of individualized patient care following approved procedures and protocols.
  • Function under the direct supervision of the Medical Director and Director of Nursing, adhering to Nursing Standards of Care, Standards of Practice for Registered Professional Nurses, and hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of facility policies, procedures, and safety standards, as well as management concepts and techniques.
  • Knowledge of medical records administration and management information systems.
  • Medical healthcare diagnoses and terminology, detoxification procedures, diseases of addiction and substance abuse disorder, co-occurring disorders, DSM criteria, and terminology.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in both positive and negative situations, with good listening skills and group presentation skills.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in substance abuse.
  • Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Active Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner License.
