About the Job

Polar Field Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Greenland. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities in a remote Arctic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty equipment, including tracked vehicles and power generation systems
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot issues using computerized software
  • Maintain and repair facilities, including electrical, plumbing, and heating systems
  • Perform fueling operations and ensure the safe and efficient operation of our equipment
  • Monitor and maintain inventory records and submit resupply requests as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy-duty equipment
  • 5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining facilities, including welding and fabrication experience
  • Experience maintaining and operating power generation equipment
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software, tools, and techniques
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to drive a truck, snowmobile, and other polar vehicles
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods of time, working in confined spaces, and enduring extreme temperatures
  • Valid US passport and driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Field experience, particularly in Arctic or Antarctic environments
  • Knowledge of pipeline systems, including water, gas, and sewage
Work Schedule

This is a seasonal, on-location position in Greenland. Seasons typically run from May to August, with a 54-hour workweek and varied schedules of up to 12+ hours per day.
