Aircraft Assembler Mechanic Job Description

At The Boeing Company, we are seeking a skilled Aircraft Assembler Mechanic to join our team in North Charleston, South Carolina. As an Aircraft Assembler Mechanic, you will play a critical role in the production of commercial aircraft, working on various programs and tasks throughout your career.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications.
  • Use a computer in a production environment to interpret drawings and read/comprehend technical work instructions.
  • Install various parts and assemblies, such as brackets, fittings, angles, frames, splices, etc.
  • Operate mechanical lifts of various types, including JLGs, Magic Carpets, and scissor lifts.
  • Route wire harnesses to supports and install connectors to receptacles and electronic components.
  • Perform fiber optic clean and inspection, light loss testing, routing, and installation.
  • Work with chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, and special finishes.
  • Inspect your work quality and check for FOD (Foreign Object Debris).
  • Capable of operating heavy machinery, such as cranes, stands, movers, lifts, etc.
  • Inspect to ensure First Pass Quality (FPQ) is attained per engineering drawings and specifications.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work a variable shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
  • 1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.
  • 1+ year of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite, and/or other specialized computer applications.
  • Preferred qualifications include 1+ years of aviation experience (school included) and the ability to complete and maintain Confined Space and Fall Protection Certifications.
