Job Summary:

This is a critical role within the Corning organization, responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of equipment through effective preventative maintenance, calibration, and prompt breakdown maintenance. The successful candidate will be a skilled technician with a strong understanding of machine function and equipment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair work on equipment, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure that equipment operates efficiently and effectively, with minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering departments to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to optimize equipment performance.
  • Work with outside contractors and vendors to procure necessary parts and services.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.

Requirements:

  • Equivalent to an accredited apprenticeship program in trade, craft, or occupation.
  • 2-year technical college degree.
  • Thorough understanding of machine function and equipment processes.
  • Proficiency in the use of Volt meters, Ohm meters, flow meters, thermometers, lathes, milling machines, drill press, band and cutoff saws, pipe bending and threading equipment, metal grinders, metal shear and brake, welding equipment, micrometers, dial and digital calipers, and small hand and power tools.

Working Conditions:

  • Good working conditions.
  • Heavy lifting in rare instances typically assisted.
  • Majority of time light lifting is involved.
  • Some exposure to elements of dirt, dust, fumes, and noise, but none disagreeable.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The range for this position is $29.75 hourly rate - $34.50 hourly rate.
  • Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
  • The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
