Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Paraeducator to join our team at KIPP Public Schools Northern California. As a Paraeducator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with academic and behavioral needs, working closely with our Education Specialist to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist students in small groups or one-to-one assignments to reinforce learning activities in core academic subjects.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans, using positive reinforcement strategies and behavior modification techniques to establish and maintain appropriate behaviors.
  • Foster social interactions and develop positive relationships between students with disabilities and their non-disabled peers.
  • Model appropriate behavior and attitudes, providing emotional support and general guidance to students.
  • Support students on field trips and school assemblies, ensuring their active participation and engagement.
  • Provide testing accommodations, supervising students during extended testing periods.
  • Maintain accurate data trackers and student progress records, reporting to the Education Specialist.
  • Establish and maintain a clean, safe, and cooperative classroom environment.
  • Assist physically disabled students with personal hygiene and grooming functions.
  • Report suspected health problems to school personnel.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and classroom information.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and Student Study Meetings.
  • Attend professional growth opportunities and maintain professional standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and an AA degree or BA degree (or minimum 48 units in process) or pass the ETS ParaPro Assessment (passing score = 460).
  • Commitment to KIPP's mission and vision, and a commitment to being an anti-racist educator.
  • Strong content area knowledge, and the ability to build relationships with students, families, and communities.
  • Proficient knowledge of Google Suite applications, and the ability to learn and utilize instructional technology.
  • Bilingual in languages that reflect our student populations (preferred).
