About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled System Architect to join our Hardware Architecture team at Amazon Lab126. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining the system architecture for consumer products such as Echo, FireTV, and other emerging concepts.

As a System Architect, you will serve as the lead technical point of contact for product management and business teams, interpreting and clarifying product concept requirements and user experiences. You will define system architecture that meets product requirements, working closely with the business team to understand and clarify requirements and user experience tradeoffs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining system architecture for consumer products
  • Leading technical discussions with product management and business teams
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and document architecture specifications
  • Providing design and validation reviews for other engineers
  • Driving technology roadmaps in areas of expertise

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of industry experience or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • Background or education in SoC/Silicon engineering, computer architecture, machine learning, or embedded software
  • Strong understanding of heterogeneous SoC architectures
  • Experience in driving architecture and design decisions for consumer electronics devices
  • Expertise in at least two of the following areas: computer architecture, SoC architecture, silicon design, graphics and multimedia, embedded Linux, video encoders/decoders, applied machine learning, ML accelerators, audio, wireless, sensors, power management, system performance benchmarking

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market.
