Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Dragline Operator to join our team at Vulcan Materials. As a Dragline Operator, you will be responsible for operating a dragline to excavate raw aggregate material from quarry pits/lakes. You will also be responsible for maintaining the mechanical condition of the dragline, inspecting and reporting any items that need service or repair to maintenance personnel.

Essential Accountabilities:

Operation of Dragline H8 & H10

Operate the dragline powered by diesel/hydraulic and electrical systems

Maneuver the dragline in and around the excavating area as safety permits, using hand-levers and foot-pedals inside the cab to operate the dragline treads, boom, and cable to excavate material

Ensure efficient and safe operation of equipment

Operate equipment safely and efficiently to limit downtime and minimize costs

Visually inspect the dragline at the beginning and end of each shift and as needed

Report equipment condition to quarry maintenance personnel

Perform other duties as instructed by supervisor

Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental, and other Company policies, procedures, and requirements

Equipment Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning

Assist maintenance personnel in performing repairs to dragline components

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years operating heavy equipment in an excavating environment

License: Valid driver's license required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must have sufficient education to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature relating to equipment. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, including reading and writing. Must have excellent judgment, hand-eye coordination, and judgment of ground integrity required
