Role Responsibilities

As a Behavioral Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential support, guidance, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. Your goal will be to empower them to live independently with dignity and respect, enhancing their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Handle with Care Training to ensure your safety and success in supporting individuals with complex care needs.
  • Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
  • Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as mobility, dressing, bathing, and personal hygiene.
  • Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation tasks.
  • Build meaningful relationships with individuals served and team members.
  • Engage in community events and activities, including outdoor walks and social gatherings.
  • Transport individuals to appointments or activities outside their homes.
  • Empower individuals with disabilities to live life to the fullest.
  • Document progress, milestones, and action steps effectively.
Qualifications

What We Are Looking For:

  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with adults with disabilities.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED certificate required.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is necessary (proof required).
  • Comfortable driving company vehicles to transport individuals as needed.
  • Some positions may require personal vehicle and auto-liability insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with individuals exhibiting challenging behaviors is a plus.
