Shipfitter - Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Fabrication and Installation Specialist to join our team at Ingalls Shipbuilding. As a key member of our shipfitting team, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing bulkheads, wood and metal articles, interior wood finishes, cabin accessories, wood and metal deck structures.

• Fabricate and assemble bulkheads, wood and metal articles, and interior wood finishes
• Install and repair cabin accessories, wood and metal deck structures
• Mount furniture, racks, and bins, as well as partition bulkheads, decorative ceilings, and false decks
• Responsible for the proper outfitting of ships

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Joiner or related craft experience in shipfitting, carpentry, or sheetmetal
• Ability to pass the Tacker Certification test
• High School diploma or equivalent, Master Tech Certification preferred
