Position Overview:

The Licensed Nursing Professional provides exceptional nursing care by employing the nursing process. Collaborates effectively with other healthcare team members to uphold standards for professional nursing practice. Executes duties in accordance with hospital policies, the institution's mission, and the standards of practice established by professional and regulatory bodies. Directs, coordinates, and delegates tasks to promote patient and family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the comprehensive nursing care of residents as directed by the Medical Director, attending physician, Director of Nursing, and designated substitutes.
  • Conducts daily visits to residents, assessing and evaluating their physical, emotional, and social needs, while completing necessary reports and documentation. Communicates resident status to the clinical coordinator and/or physician through written and verbal means.
  • Engages in the resident care review process, assisting in the establishment of resident goals, problem-solving, strategies, and adjustments as necessary; employs multidisciplinary team approaches.
  • Prepares assessments, resident care plans, and maintains documentation in the medical record following established protocols and procedures.
  • Responsible for the accurate administration of medications and the documentation of medications provided in the Medical Administration Record (MAR).
  • Oversees and delegates responsibilities to direct care staff based on resident needs. Ensures that direct care staff fulfill daily assignments as required. Manages nursing supply inventory by verifying stock levels, anticipating supply needs, placing orders, confirming receipt of supplies, and utilizing equipment and supplies as necessary to meet resident needs.
Qualifications Required:
  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid RN licensure from the State of Michigan
  • CPR Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 35 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in geriatric care
