Job Summary

As an Occupational Therapist at Ambercare, you will provide occupation therapy services to patients according to a written physician's plan of care and as defined in the state Occupational Therapy Practice Act. You will develop treatment programs and establish goals for improved function, communicate plans of care to referring physicians and other organization professionals as needed, and maintain appropriate clinical records and reports.

Responsibilities
  • Provides occupation therapy services to patients according to a written physician's plan of care

  • Maintains appropriate clinical records and reports
  • May teach new skills or retrain patients in once familiar daily activities that have been lost due to illness or injury
  • May fabricate splints and instruct patients in the use of various types of adaptive equipment to improve function
  • May train patients in the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • At least two years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist (preferred)
  • Must have reliable transportation, current driver's license, and appropriate automobile insurance
  • Complies and maintains current CPR certification
