CNC Machinist Job Description

Job Summary:

Steel Craft Technologies is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality machined parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Download and execute programs and MDI (Manual Data Input) as needed.
  • Setup and machine to the proper programs and tolerances required.
  • Recheck setups, change cutters and inserts, and make adjustments as needed to achieve the best possible results.
  • Maintain appropriate tools and keep current on calibration.
  • Keep work area clean and follow all safety rules.
  • Report unsafe work conditions to management.

Requirements:

  • Experience with 3-axis mills.
  • A well-rounded knowledge of cutters and inserts, and feeds/speeds.
  • High school or equivalent education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large mills.
  • Experience with right-angle head.
  • Two years of machining experience.
  • Programming experience using Fusion 360.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing environment with a focus on safety and quality.

Physical Demands:

Candidate must have full use of all limbs and be able to lift 40 pounds.
