Job Summary:
The Medical Transport Specialist is a critical role within our organization, responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation of patients to medical facilities. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Company vehicles in accordance with Risk & Safety policies
- Maintain a driving record in compliance with Risk & Safety policy requirements
- Develop ability to locate addresses quickly and safely through knowledge of number systems and street layouts
- Perform beginning of shift checks to ensure the ambulance is in a state of mechanical readiness
- Communicate effectively with empathy and compassion to interview patients, their family members, bystanders, other service agency members, and facility staff
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Some prior work experience in a healthcare system preferred
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License and ability to become PBOT Certified
Working Conditions:
- Available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Long periods inside the ambulance
- May work indoors or outdoors with exposure to weather
- May periodically work in poorly lit environments in a moving vehicle
Mental Requirements:
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Fatigue, high pressure, exposure to stressful situations
