Job Summary

The State of Hawaii is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Livestock Inspector I. As a key member of the Animal Disease Control Branch, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of Hawaii's livestock industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of animals imported into the State at ports of entry for compliance with state laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform disease surveillance and investigations to prevent the introduction of animal diseases.
  • Inspect animal production operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Provide quarantine services to prevent the spread of diseases.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in the care and handling of large and small animals.
  • One year of experience in livestock inspection, quarantine, and testing for disease, and the enforcement of livestock disease control rules and regulations.
