Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Forensic Accountant will manage multiple family law cases, guiding them from initial engagement through to resolution, under the supervision of the designated partner for each case. This position is ideal for individuals who excel in time management and client relationship development. The role will involve adapting to dynamic priorities typical of a litigation support environment.

Primary Duties Include:

• Conduct forensic investigations for clients involved in diverse litigation cases.

• Assist in planning and preparing engagements by documenting and assessing audit objectives, and creating or modifying audit programs.

• Build and maintain effective relationships with attorneys and law firms managing litigation.

• Establish client connections and enhance understanding of business processes for business valuation tasks.

• Analyze and provide insights on business operations, including revenue and expenditure patterns, financial obligations, and anticipated revenues.

• Execute substantive testing of transactions and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls.

• Prepare audit work papers that substantiate audit conclusions.

• Draft comprehensive reports summarizing forensic accounting findings.

• Support the presentation of forensic investigation outcomes to the litigation team.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental frameworks, including standard tools, templates, policies, and procedures.

• Participate in risk assessment initiatives and assist in planning forensic investigations.

• Compile and analyze financial data to produce financial statements, including affidavits.

• Oversee document management and organization, including scanning and imaging records by litigation staff.

• Ensure compliance of financial records with established policies and procedures.

• Generate financial management reports, including alimony scenarios and child support guidelines.

• Conduct relevant analyses, such as lifestyle assessments, asset and liability evaluations, and income history. Direct litigation staff as necessary and delegate appropriate tasks.

• Maintain communication with counsel and clients to keep them informed of case status and promptly notify management of any issues.

• Draft internal and external correspondence to document engagement progress.

• At the conclusion of each case, ensure that client files are digitized and original documents are returned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in public accounting.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, codes, and regulations; experience in income tax preparation is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in related software applications.
  • Strong analytical, report writing, and research capabilities.
  • Highly motivated individual with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Working knowledge of technical literature and its application.
  • Experience in financial statement preparation.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
