Job Description

The Military DoD SkillBridge program offers a unique opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. As a SkillBridge partner, GE Aerospace connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction. This program allows separating Service members to be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support and perform work in compliance to all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations.
  • Interface with external organizations & internal supporting functions that support business needs.
  • Work on assignments that are assigned to area, identify issues or problems with equipment, processes, and/or products.
  • Communicate work product to the appropriate persons.
  • Contribute to and collaborate with team to effectively deliver on priorities.
  • Perform assigned tasks including setup, installation, calibration, data collection, documentation, and operating functions necessary for the successful operation of analog, digital, and gas analysis data acquisition systems.
  • Monitor data acquisition systems during engine test to identify issues.
  • Assist with investigating, diagnosing, and correcting instrumentation or system malfunctions, elevating issues to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Review and assist in the interpretation and processing of test data.
  • Analyze results of calibrations and processed data.
  • Maintain effective communications with team members, support organization, and customers.
  • Promote and demonstrate good housekeeping.
  • Observe safety practices.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Active Military Personnel.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Airframe & Powerplant license.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer to navigate Online documents, drawings, and instructions.
  • Prior experience working in a team-oriented environment.
