Quality Assurance Specialist

Viking Range LLC is seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of components and OEM finished goods supplied to our organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action: Lead investigations into supplier-related issues and develop effective corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to implement corrective actions and ensure seamless communication throughout the process.
- Production Part Approval Process (PPAP): Manage the PPAP process to ensure all supplier submissions meet engineering requirements and are approved for production.
- New Supplier Onboarding: Ensure the safe launch of new supplier parts, products, and processes, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Supplier Quality Concerns: Act as the primary point of contact for end-of-line/receiving inspection/field issues, managing failure analysis and coordinating corrective actions with suppliers.
- Performance Metrics and Monitoring: Establish and monitor supplier performance measures for quality and delivery, providing regular updates on the status of supplier quality concerns and ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Supplier Assessments: Perform on-site process and quality assessments to verify supplier capabilities meet expectations and requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement plans focused on supplier component reliability and field performance.
- Technical Degree: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or a related field).
- Quality Management Experience: Proven experience with continuous improvement and quality management tools and methodologies such as 8D, PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP, and sampling plans.
- Lean Manufacturing: Experience and good understanding of lean manufacturing with defect-free methodologies.
- Statistical Methods: Strong understanding of probability and statistical methods related to quality assurance.
- Quality Certifications: ASQ certifications (Certified Quality Engineer or Auditor) are highly desirable.
- Quality System Standards: Solid understanding of ISO/TS quality system standards.
- Manufacturing Experience: Familiarity with commercial or residential appliance manufacturing is preferred.
- Travel Requirements: Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
