Ship Fitter

We are currently seeking a skilled Ship Fitter to join our team in San Diego, California. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a project that requires precision and attention to detail.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in ship fitting, with a strong background in blueprint reading and metalworking. The ideal candidate will be able to assemble, cut, and grind metal structural parts, as well as perform welding tasks. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential for this role.

Responsibilities include:

• Laying out work from blueprints and performing layout work according to reference lines
• Cutting, burning, grinding, and fitting metal structural parts
• Tacking and welding foundation and structural members
• Operating high-reaching equipment, including condors, sky climbers, and scissors lifts
• Setting up tools and equipment at job sites and cleaning up scrap material
• Working in confined spaces and at heights, and being able to hear warning signals and read safety instructions
