Job Summary

As an Ophthalmic Technician with Children's National Health System, you will play a vital role in the pediatric ophthalmology clinic. Your primary responsibilities will include performing visual fields and visual acuity testing, as well as assisting physicians with special procedures and difficult examination techniques. You will also be responsible for maintaining inventory of examination lenses, instruments, and other equipment. Additionally, you will work closely with the full-time staff, fellows, and residents to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual fields and visual acuity testing as requested
• Assist physicians with special procedures and difficult examination techniques
• Maintain inventory of examination lenses, instruments, and other equipment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of ophthalmic technician or technologist training
• 1 year of pediatric ophthalmology clinic training or work experience
• Eligibility for Certification by JCAPO
