Role Summary:
This volunteer position involves transporting children to essential appointments, including family visits and therapy sessions, as coordinated by a Case Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Confirm pick-up times and directions with caregivers.
- Implement safety protocols, including the use of appropriate car seats and seatbelts.
- Drive children to their designated appointments and ensure their safe return home.
- Report any significant incidents or concerns to staff members.
- Maintain a record of mileage and parking expenses, submitting monthly reports.
- Adhere to the established volunteer policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
- Have access to a reliable vehicle, with a willingness to drive in various areas.
- Demonstrate a warm and caring approach when interacting with children.
- Ability to manage child behavior effectively when necessary.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills and dependability.
- Possess good communication skills and mature problem-solving abilities.
- A cell phone is recommended but not mandatory.
Commitment:
Volunteers are expected to commit for a minimum of six months, with a general requirement of one visit per week, lasting between 2 to 4 hours.
