Pipefitter Journeyman

As a Pipefitter Journeyman at TDIndustries, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems. This includes laying out, assembling, and installing pipes, fittings, and fixtures according to specifications and trade codes.
Key Responsibilities- Study specifications, building plans, and shop drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installation.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, following prescribed safety regulations and implementing 6S principles.
- Set up equipment and welding parts using various machines, including arc, submerged arc, gas-shielded arc, mig, and tig.
- Inspect structures to avoid obstructions and lay out pipe and passage holes using rulers, levels, squares, and lasers.
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and fittings using hand and power tools.
- Install sleeves and leave outs for roof and wall penetrations, and help excavate, backfill, and tamp ditches.
- Lay out, position, align, fit, tack-weld, assemble, and install valves, hangers, pipe, and fittings composed of various metals and nonmetals.
- Bend pipe by hand or with a pipe-bending machine, and fill pipe systems with water or air to determine system leaks.
- Install, maintain, and repair air-conditioning and refrigeration systems, including compressors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 4+ years as a Pipefitter Journeyman preferred.
- Trained and qualified to operate machinery such as scissor lifts, aerial lifts, fork lifts, etc.
