Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Medical Dosimetrist to join our Radiation Oncology team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and meaningful treatment plans for radiation oncology patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for radiation oncology patients under the guidance of Radiation Oncologists.
  • Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Nurses, and Therapists to ensure proper patient care.
  • Coordinate with trainees and residents to provide learning opportunities and support their development.
  • Participate in clinical trials, clinical research, and educational initiatives to advance the field of radiation oncology.
  • Provide integrated clinical care and support treatment planning, dosimetry, and radiation therapy modalities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in physical or biological sciences.
  • Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) or board eligible with certification within one year of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of physics, math, dosimetry, and computer systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, initiative, and team spirit.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science degree in physics, radiological physics, dosimetry, or math.
  • Experience with Pinnacle, RadCalc, MOSAIQ, CRAD, MIM, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, IGRT, brachytherapy, and other radiation therapy modalities.
  • Clinical teaching experience and publications in the field of radiation oncology.
  • Aptitude for learning new software and technologies.
