Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in fulfilling their responsibilities.
  • Prepare, review, and update security authorization documentation.
  • Implement procedures for the sanitization and destruction of hardware and media.
  • Notify the ISSM of any changes that may impact the security authorization of information systems.
  • Conduct regular assessments of information systems to verify compliance with security standards.
  • Coordinate modifications to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and Authorizing Official (AO) prior to implementation.
  • Oversee system recovery processes to ensure security features are restored and operational.
  • Maintain up-to-date security documentation accessible to authorized personnel.
  • Collect and review audit records, documenting any discrepancies.
  • Participate in required technical and security training relevant to assigned duties.
  • Execute the cybersecurity segment of self-inspections, providing security oversight for system assessments.
  • Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and assist in implementing effective countermeasures.
  • Generate reports detailing the status of security measures in place for computer systems.
  • Perform ISSO functions to support both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct security impact analyses related to configuration management changes.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in information security.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution; additional experience may substitute for education.
  • Active DoD M IAT-II certification is required.
  • Familiarity with DoD/USAF information security policies and practical experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
  • Experience in developing RMF documentation and related artifacts.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues, management, and clients.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess a current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program information is necessary.
  • Willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph examination.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Occasional movement within the office environment.
  • Frequent use of computers and office equipment.
  • Effective communication with team members and clients, including delivering presentations.
