Overview: As a Senior Industrial Security Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the Security Division, specifically within the Industrial Security Branch. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring compliance with security protocols and policies that align with the Navy's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement policies to guarantee adherence to higher-level security standards.
- Assess facility clearances and security measures before disseminating classified information.
- Act as a subject matter expert, facilitating team initiatives and negotiations.
- Provide guidance and support to team members regarding industrial security regulations and directives.
- Manage clearance processes for both organizational and personnel needs.
- Serve as the primary contact for contractors regarding access approvals and denials.
- Identify training requirements for team members and coordinate necessary development opportunities.
- Evaluate team dynamics to enhance performance and explore potential improvements.
- Function as a Qualified Security Contracting Officer.
- Review and validate security classification guidance, including signing necessary documentation for classified contracts.
- Conduct self-assessments of the industrial security program and review security processes.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or comparable experience in the private or public sector. This experience should reflect proficiency in managing and developing industrial security program plans, including verifying facility clearances and recommending process enhancements to boost productivity and efficiency.
Additional Information:
This role may require working during unconventional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to fulfill mission objectives. Candidates should be prepared for potential overtime or night differential pay, as well as the possibility of driving a government vehicle.
