We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to join our team at Oaklawn Surgery Center. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instrument Preparation: Clean and sterilize medical instruments, prepare and pack the correct instruments for specific procedures, and maintain a clean and organized instrument tray.
- Central Sterile Area Management: Maintain the Central Sterile area in a neat and orderly condition, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are properly stored and easily accessible.
- Supply Management: Obtain supplies from other areas as needed, return supplies and equipment to the appropriate location, and maintain an accurate inventory of supplies.
- Assisting Surgeons: Assist Physician(s) and the Nurse Manager by anticipating instrument and procedural needs for all surgical procedures.
- Health and Safety: Effectively handle health or safety hazards for self and patients, and report any unusual occurrences or incidents accurately to the Clinical Director.
Requirements:
- 0-3 years of experience in a surgical setting
- Maintains current BCLS certification and completion of required annual in-services
- Ability to work in a fast-paced surgery center environment with healthcare interactions that include patient contact, hazardous chemicals, and infectious disease under a moderate level of noise
- Manual dexterity, mobility, visual acuity, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, attendance, and good interpersonal skills
