Aerial Emergency Medical Technician

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Aerial Emergency Medical Technician to join our dedicated team of aviation healthcare professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe transport of patients to and from healthcare facilities, as well as responding to emergency situations.
Our commitment to safety and effective patient care is paramount, and you will be part of a professional team that upholds the highest safety standards for both crew and patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each flight dispatched within the designated timeframe.
- Conduct daily base checks, including narcotic inventory.
- Provide advanced life support care in pre-hospital and intra-hospital settings from the moment of initial contact until patient care is transferred to the receiving medical facility, ensuring thorough documentation of patient care.
- Maintain competency in medical knowledge and skills through ongoing training and clinical experiences.
- Keep accurate records of licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety protocols, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use and routine maintenance of all emergency equipment and supplies.
- Foster positive relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the community.
- Participate as a medical flight team member.
- Attend pre-mission briefings and post-mission debriefings, completing all necessary documentation.
- Assist with pre-mission checklists and provide pilot support as needed, including radio communication, navigation, and visual monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards to protect yourself, medical personnel, patients, and equipment prior to takeoff.
- Conduct safety briefings for aircraft as required.
- Take responsibility for filling open or vacant shifts as directed by the Regional Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in an Advanced Life Support (ALS) or critical care environment is required.
Preferred Education and Certifications:
- Current EMT-P license/certification in the relevant states is required.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are mandatory prior to achieving flight status.
- Trauma certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
- Advanced Certification (FP-C) is preferred and must be acquired within 24 months of hire.
- Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, and ITLS/PHTLS are advantageous.
- NREMT-P certification may be required in the assigned area.
