Job Summary:

The Nurse Manager at The Brixton at Horseshoe Bay is responsible for leading the daily activities of certified nursing assistants in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as established facility policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs the daily activities of certified nursing assistants
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures
  • Participates in admission, discharge, and transfers of residents
  • Observes changes in residents' status and notifies physicians and family members
  • Transcribes physician orders and carries out orders as written
  • Prepares and administers medications as per physicians' orders
  • Performs wound treatments as per physicians' orders
  • Schedules follow-up appointments and transportation needs
  • Provides nursing leadership to nursing personnel
  • Provides direct care skills such as colostomy changes, tube feedings, wound care, suctioning, IV administration
  • Performs rounds to ensure resident needs are met
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure residents' needs are holistically met
  • Reports incidents or unusual occurrences to supervisors
  • Participates in end-of-life care
  • Ensures adequate stock of medications, supplies, and equipment
  • Initiates, reviews, and updates care plans
  • Promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication
  • Participates in survey processes

Requirements:

  • RN License (Required)
  • Associate's degree (Preferred)
  • 1 year of nursing experience (Preferred)
