About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies. Your expertise will be essential in accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings, ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies
  • Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information
  • Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures
  • Adjust factors to attain the appropriate images
  • Ensure safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, and medical history, and communicate findings to physicians
Requirements
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by the ARDMS
  • Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Education and Experience
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography
  • No experience required
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. over the head
  • Must be able to carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force
  • Must be able to perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present
