Harrison Steel Castings Co. is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to provide essential medical support during the third shift (10pm-6am) at our on-site first aid facility. This office is crucial for addressing all health and injury-related incidents occurring within the company premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medical assistance to employees experiencing illness or injury while on duty.
- Collaborate with the Plant Response Organization (PRO) to deliver emergency care to injured individuals, including the safe extraction of victims from accident scenes.
- Act as the lead emergency medical technician, assessing the severity of injuries or illnesses and determining appropriate first aid measures or the necessity for additional medical services, including ambulance transport.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all employees receiving medical attention, whether through first aid or external medical facilities.
- Complete necessary accident documentation for workers' compensation claims.
- Adhere to established job instructions and training protocols as required.
- Conduct post-incident and reasonable cause drug and alcohol screenings.
Additional Responsibilities:
The first aid team also serves in a security capacity, which includes duties such as monitoring the facility, responding to phone inquiries, directing visitors, overseeing truck entries, and ensuring the cleanliness of the main gate area.
Qualifications:
- Valid Emergency Medical Technician certification or equivalent First Responder/Firefighter certification. EMT-A, B, P, or I certifications are also acceptable, with the requirement to obtain certification within twelve months of employment.
- CPR Level C certification.
