Job Overview
As an Environmental Geoscientist at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will play a crucial role in environmental compliance and assessment initiatives. Your main duties will involve conducting field operations, which include:
- Leading and assisting in field sampling for groundwater, surface water, air, and soil monitoring projects;
- Overseeing soil boring installations and bedrock coring procedures;
- Installing groundwater monitoring wells and piezometers utilizing various drilling techniques;
- Performing field screenings of different media to identify potential environmental impacts;
- Documenting the installation processes of groundwater monitoring wells and piezometers.
Additionally, you will contribute to reporting tasks, which involve managing and analyzing environmental data, creating potentiometric surface maps, developing geological cross-sections, and preparing comprehensive reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred);
- Professional Geologist (P.G.) or Geologist-in-Training (G.I.T.) certification is advantageous;
- 5-8 years of relevant professional experience;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record;
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Experience in drilling and environmental media sampling;
- Familiarity with the installation of monitoring wells, including selecting screen intervals based on field observations;
- Knowledge of the Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP);
- Completion of OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations training.
