Job Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) plays a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care services that meet the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the LVN will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality patient care that meets the needs of diverse populations
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement effective care plans
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitoring patient vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns
  • Assisting with patient education and discharge planning
Responsibilities

The LVN will be responsible for:

  • Providing direct patient care services, including vital sign monitoring, wound care, and medication administration
  • Assisting with patient transfers and mobility
  • Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and progress
  • Documenting patient information and care plans in the electronic medical record
  • Responding to patient and family needs in a timely and compassionate manner
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the LVN must have:

  • A current and valid license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse issued by the State of California
  • BCLS certification upon hire and maintenance
  • PALS and ACLS certification preferred
  • IV certification upon hire
  • Minimum one year experience in an Acute Care Medical-Surgical setting preferred
