Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients and physicians. You will work collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure excellent patient care and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains patient care by performing examinations, identifying relevant data from images, and communicating pertinent information to healthcare professionals.
- Participates in creating a culture of patient safety and demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness.
- Verifies patient identification and documentation, and communicates with patients regarding pertinent information during exams.
- Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
- Ensures patient data integrity by accurately completing computer functions, editing, scheduling, billing, status changes, and image transfers in a timely manner.
- Participates as an active team member by orienting and mentoring new employees and students, participating in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives, and responsible for personal and professional development.
- Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines, identifies and responds to equipment problems, and maintains a high level of competency.
- Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
- Demonstrates commitment to customers, fellow employees, and Fairview by respecting confidentiality, communicating openly and honestly, resolving conflict in a positive manner, and contributing to the productivity of the workgroup.
Requirements
- ARRT Registration or Registration for modality specific (e.g. NMTCB, RDMS), or registry eligible with successful completion within 90 days (Ultrasound within 18 months).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) before date of hire.
- Preferred: Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
