Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Lowell Public Schools. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will work closely with students to improve their communication skills and provide support to teachers and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluation and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose students' communication needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Therapy Services: Provide small group and individual speech and language therapy services to identified students, using a variety of instructional strategies to meet their diverse needs.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor student progress and complete progress reports to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with teachers, related service providers, and IEP team members to provide consultation and support to ensure students' communication needs are met.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, including written reports and progress monitoring data.
Requirements
  • License and Certification: Valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Speech and Hearing Disabilities (all levels) and certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Clinical Fellows considered).
  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • Experience: School experience preferred.
