Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit team. As a critical care nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with complex conditions. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering compassionate and effective care in our ICU.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to establish care needs
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor their effects
  • Perform advanced medical procedures as necessary
  • Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in status
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop care plans
  • Operate and monitor life support equipment and medical devices
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documenting all care provided
  • Educate patients and families on their condition and treatment plan
  • Ensure adherence to ICU and hospital protocols to maintain patient safety
  • Participate in rounds and communicate with the healthcare team
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families
  • Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff and students
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with advancements in critical care nursing
  • Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of medical waste and sharps

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wyoming
  • BSN or MSN degree from an accredited nursing program
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification may be required for certain positions
  • Critical care certification (CCRN) is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong clinical skills with a focus on patient safety and quality of care
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to perform the duties of the position
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development
