We are currently seeking a skilled Warehouse Associate for our shipping department. This role encompasses various responsibilities, including operating forklifts, order picking, receiving shipments, inventory management, and processing freight in a dynamic distribution setting while adhering to established warehouse protocols. The available schedule for this position is Monday to Friday during the day shift.
Position Overview:
The Warehouse Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the shipping department by coordinating the picking, preparation, and dispatch of products efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates the daily operations of the shipping and receiving team.
- Safely navigates designated inventory aisles to optimize the picking process.
- Handles item processing tasks, including unboxing, labeling, packaging, and palletizing.
- Receives directives from the warehouse supervisor regarding the movement of products and shipment preparations.
- Implements strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Applies knowledge of industry policies and procedures in daily operations.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- Processes product returns, ensuring items are cleaned, tested, re-packaged, and sorted according to company standards.
- Assists with inventory tasks such as cycle counting as required.
- Receives inbound shipments, unloading containers and palletizing goods in accordance with company guidelines.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant business practices and procedures.
- Ability to apply standard theories and principles to propose effective solutions.
- Experience in supervising processes, assigning tasks, and reviewing work quality.
- Strong problem-solving skills for day-to-day operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred industry/professional certification.
- Consistent and reliable attendance.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Experience operating machinery such as reach trucks and forklifts.
While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. Frequent use of hands for handling and reaching is necessary, along with occasional standing and walking. Employees must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
