Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CT Technologist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing high-quality images for diagnostic purposes. You will work closely with our radiologists and healthcare team to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex CT procedures, including computed tomography scans and related techniques.
  • Evaluate radiographs to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value.
  • Use consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from medical records, patients, and healthcare providers.
  • Determine patient preparation and safety protocols.
  • Assist providers with CT-guided interventional procedures as needed.
  • Administer contrast and perform CT examinations according to established departmental protocols.
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients, addressing their questions and concerns.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to guidelines.
  • Monitor patient physical condition during procedures.
  • Review images to determine additional scans needed for diagnostic value.
  • Perform retrospective reconstruction on raw data.
  • Provide technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents.
  • Adhere to infection control guidelines and sterile techniques.
  • Revises scanning parameters to better visualize pathology according to established protocol.
  • Review diagnostic or therapeutic data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Document patient data in the appropriate record.
  • Archive images to data storage devices according to guidelines.
  • Assess equipment performance based on established guidelines.
  • Perform daily clerical duties, including use of EPIC, PACS, and other computer systems.
  • Greet patients using AIDET standards.
  • Administer emergency care, including CPR if necessary.
  • Work scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends, and be available for overtime and on-call assignments as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved school of radiography.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
  • Diagnostic Radiography License.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
  • CT certification must be completed within 9 months from date of hire.
Working Conditions

Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
