The Manufacturing Reliability Manager plays a crucial role in leading and managing reliability initiatives that assess and enhance equipment, components, and processes using methodologies aligned with Strategic Asset Management. This position is responsible for aligning personnel, resources, and strategies with key reliability objectives related to machinery and equipment design standards, as well as operational targets. The Manager will also support the achievement of organizational goals concerning manufacturing assets and mobile equipment.
Key Responsibilities:Maintenance Management:
- Establishes strategic maintenance objectives and leads regular reviews to track progress.
- Oversees the development and maintenance of the Strategic Asset Management Plan.
- Acts as the business owner for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Directs analytical processes to implement predictive maintenance strategies.
- Standardizes maintenance procedures and performance metrics, creating clear role descriptions.
- Implements and supports the CMMS to optimize maintenance operations.
- Leads and mentors a team of reliability and automation engineers to enhance the overall performance of manufacturing assets.
- Develops and manages the Maintenance Skills Training program.
- Coordinates workforce planning for maintenance technicians.
- Maintains the Maintenance SharePoint site for resource sharing.
Capital Project Oversight:
- Analyzes and reports on improvement opportunities related to major capital projects, including new equipment acquisitions and rebuilds.
- Collaborates with suppliers throughout the asset lifecycle to maximize equipment utilization.
Support for Manufacturing Excellence:
- Provides technical guidance for modifications and development of new manufacturing processes.
- Ensures compliance with specifications and cost reduction initiatives for mobile equipment.
- Leads the inspection program for overhead cranes and contributes to corporate safety standards.
- Assists in generating and implementing cost-saving ideas and projects.
- Collaborates with Product Excellence and Innovation teams on new product development.
- Stays informed about current manufacturing technologies to support company initiatives.
- Administers company policies and fosters positive employee relations.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with safety certifications for equipment and materials.
- Verifies that all new equipment meets OSHA and company safety standards.
- Acts as a safety advocate for the development and modification of safety procedures.
- Supports the Health, Safety & Environmental management in addressing incident reports.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 20 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proven track record of managing significant projects, including plant start-ups and equipment purchases exceeding $5M.
- Familiarity with equipment schematics and documentation, including electrical and hydraulic drawings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of company products and the Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) sector.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Microsoft Project.
- Understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance and Lean methodologies.
- Ability to create detailed procedures and specifications.
- Strong leadership and process management skills.
- Excellent written communication and problem-solving abilities.
- High-quality decision-making skills.
