Job Summary:

The City of La Crosse, WI is seeking a highly skilled Appraiser II to join our Assessment team. As an Appraiser II, you will play a crucial role in determining the market value of various properties, including commercial, residential, and agricultural real and personal property. Your expertise will be essential in analyzing property sales data, inspecting real properties, and interpreting legal descriptions, aerial photos, and zoning maps.

Key Responsibilities:

* Analyze property sales data to determine market value
* Inspect real properties to determine building features, construction quality, and materials
* Interpret legal descriptions, aerial photos, and zoning maps to maintain plat maps
* Conduct computer-assisted sales and dispersion studies and comparison studies for individual appraisals
* Assist City departments regarding annexation and tax description issues

Requirements:

* Associate degree in Property Appraisal or related field, Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field preferred
* Three to five years of experience in real estate valuation, property listing, or related field
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work under generally safe and comfortable conditions
